Beach House Avalon Wedding
NOW THIS BEACH HOUSE AVALON WEDDING WAS COOL! Both brides had their outfits made from the same dress! In Vanessas words: Mel and I do literally everything together and spending the night apart before the wedding is a pretty big deal for both of us. So just having a “part of me” with her at all times, gave us a sense of comfort. It sort of represented our union and we just wanted to be linked, even through our outfits!
I think it was only about 6 weeks before the wedding that Mel’s sister finally found this Italian lady – Marilena Gabriel – who understood what we were after and made our vision come to life. Mel felt like a rockstar that day which was so great to see ? She looked absolutely stunning and I just remember seeing her for the first time at the end of the aisle on the day, thinking OMG she just looks perfect in her outfit.
What made our big day even more special to us was the fact that both our families were present. Coming from a tiny island like Mauritius where same sex couples are still stigmatised and where we are no near close to legalising same sex marriage, and Mel coming from a Greek Italian background where it’s such a touchy subject, and just does not sit well with their culture and beliefs.. it just felt SURREAL to have both our families not only present, but supportive and genuinely happy for us.. our day was just a real celebration of LOVE!
Review from Ness + Mel (thank you ladies): “Kat was an absolute delight to work with! She understood what we wanted right from the start and made us SO comfortable in front of the camera. She has such a warm, relaxed and natural approach and we would 100% recommend her. We could not be happier with our wedding photos – they are just perfect and she captured our wedding day so beautifully!”
